Getting Organised

When we first were at home the heat and humidity limited what outside jobs I was able to complete, and then the rain kept us inside minimising our travel. The rain has eased and it is warm and humid. Yesterday I walked to Surfers Paradise while Blue was with the groomer. There was traffic chaos as a sheet of metal had blown onto a neighbouring roof.

Traffic on Chevron Island hardly moved so it was lucky I had left home early for the grooming appointment. There were several dogs for Blue to interact with, including a boxer belonging to the owner. The photos of Blue are before and after his professional haircut.

The fence is finished but like most tradies they managed to do a 99% job. I have trimmed 2mm off a paling that overlapped a metal bracket causing it to distort. There are a couple of other problems with the retaining wall so that means working on my hands and knees and can wait until it is cooler and drier. We had visitors for a few days and they helped me put the side gate back. Anita helped with the clothes line but it will be a few days before she will be hanging clothes outside.

I turned on the air conditioning in the Bushtracker, but it was on too much of an angle and caused condensation to drip onto the floor. I jacked up the van and put one more timber block under the wheels to that solved the problem.

Tilly and Blue are so very happy to be home where they can run all day. His favourite activity is running with a leather glove in his mouth that has a short length of old bandage attached. He runs past Tilly and eventually she can't resist and chases him. When the 12 week old puppy Pip visits Blue cannot understand why the puppy doesn't know the rules of the game. Blue growls at Pip when he comes near the glove. Blue snapped his head to the side to let Pip know not to touch the glove. There is one behaviour we are not sure about - when Blue is lying down resting Pip climbs on top of his hindquarters but Blue doesn't like it. I bought this slab of grass to see if Blue would use it as a toilet. Instead he and Tilly eat it.
