Day 2 - Montville

We were warm and cosy in our caravan but our friends did not find their cabin comfortable. Three of us went to Montville for a look around and started with breakfast at the Edge which has impressive views even though it was a bit misty today. The food was acceptable but not brilliant. I fancied the old red car parked outside one of the shops.

We wandered around Montville with the other weekend tourists, stopping at the Clock Shop and nextdoor chocolate shop. The chocolate coated freeze dried strawberries are very nice. Apart from clocks there are beer steins and special christmas decorations available for purchase. These cuckoo clocks are turned off each night and turned on again in the morning. They all show a different time.

Anita stayed in the van with Blue and Tilly while I drove our friends to two of the region's waterfalls that had virtually no water falling, but had lots of visitors and not enough parking spaces. It was pleasant being in the fresh air but very busy on the narrow paths. One woman had walked down the path and was struggling to walk back up the hill - her pink Onesie was very striking.

Tonight we will be joined by other friends for a birthday dinner at the Mapleton pub sitting outside on the veranda in the hope we minimise our risk of being exposed to COVID. I am putting on my extra warm pants as my legs were cold last night.
