Finished Some Jobs

I took Blue on his first trip to Bunnings. It was early so not crowded. The staff were very attentive because I had Blue with me. I bought the rivets I needed and finished installing the acrylic sheeting on the security door.

While I was finishing this job we had a surprise visit from a couple of friends who came to meet Blue. They took this lovely photo of him sitting in the pot.

The next job I finished was storing things in the gatehouse so that I will be able to start some projects in the garage that need lots of room.

I have a small bathroom cabinet that came from the Federation house I renovated in Annandale. I think it is cedar so decided to strip off the green paint. This will be a drawn out project because I can only put stripper on one side at a time. It might be a challenge to get the green tinge out of the wood grain.

I'm no gardener but I decided to move plants from pots into the ground, spread mulch and cover the drain with river stones. This courtyard garden bed has an irrigation system so the plants will be easier to water out of their pots. There was a tall fountain palm in the middle of the garden bed that we had to remove a couple of years ago. The stump could not be ground out because lots of stones were embedded in the root system. As the roots have rotted these stones have fallen out so I may be able to remove the remaining stump over time.

I took Blue for a short walk to the end of the street, carrying him most of the way. He has been getting used to the various loud noises that come from this building site. The timber frame went up in two days with assistance from a crane.

Blue was one side of the temporary gate at the top of the stairs and Tilly was precariously perched on the other side. They were playing through the holes in the plastic.
