Car Alarm in Middle of Night!

We were woken by our Jeep alarm going off twice at 1.30am! There is no sign of an attempted intruder so it was either triggered by an insect such as the moth that flew in yesterday, or it is reacting to changes in temperature. Tonight I will be leaving the Jeep unlocked so the alarm can't go off otherwise we will have very unhappy neighbours.

This disturbed sleep meant we were both very tired this morning so had a lazy start to the day. I skipped a walk and enjoyed swimming in our 30 degree pool. Anita thought it might be nice to have a swim at the beach until she saw on the news the water temperature is 21 degrees! I have gradually been cutting off the tips of these plants that were in the garden when we bought this house -  I don't know what they are called. Our gardener told me they can be dangerous for eyes for both people and pets.

The resident spider was playing dead until I watered the plant. I don't think it is harmful but removed the eggs I found on the plant as one of these critters next to our pool is enough.

I wasted more than an hour unpicking some of my knitting as I had made a mistake with the colour of the yarn that was obvious. Having sorted out my father's photographs I posted bundles to brothers and sisters and my aunt. I am putting together albums for my father and send them to him from time to time. I also posted him a couple of jigsaws kindly donated by my friend as I was unable to buy any at Kmart or Big W either in the store or online. It's amazing what sells out in a crisis.

We learned this evening that our kitten had her desexing operation today and all going well she may be available for us to pick her up on Saturday - the same day we are getting our Toy Boy (our poodle). I have been going over our house looking for potential puppy/kitten hazards and items we don't want chewed, such as our entire shoe collection stored on the floor of the wardrobe. Note to self - keep the wardrobe doors shut!!!

One of our biggest hazards is the staircase and gaps between the vertical railings that support the handrail on the landing and on the staircase. The spray bottle has been located as that proved useful training kittens not to jump onto tables or kitchen benches. It will be challenging but exciting having a kitten and a small puppy in the house at the same time!
