Broken Hill - Chores and Visiting

We put on a load of washing first thing this morning. It took all day to dry as it was cold with little sunshine. On our first pass the Silly Goat had no outdoor seating available. We investigated the nearest alternative but it was uninspiring so we returned to the Silly Goat and seats were available at the large communal table. The coffee is great and the granola tasty and interesting.

The mural beside the Sufi Bakery caught my attention. The building is the Almiraj Sufi & Islamic Centre. The bakery makes sourdough pastries as well as bread. I prefer traditional croissants but we bought some bread and spinach pastries to try. Of course the Ghan train doesn't run through Broken Hill. The mural also depicts Afghan cameleers.

I took the Toyota wheel with a flat tyre to Beaurepairs and picked it up later in the day. We picked up some groceries and Anita spent time cooking in the afternoon while I visited my relatives.

I caught a glimpse of one of the Broken Hill sights to be revisited while we are here. We went to the S-Que Restaurant at the Ibis Hotel for dinner. The menu offers more interesting options than most of the outback pubs we have visited. I enjoyed prawn gumbbo and Anita had the paella.
