Restful Day in Barcaldine
The weather in Barcaldine is preferable to what we experienced in Winton - today a max of 27° and min 14°. This will be our first day without needing air con. Our friends who doggedly stayed put at the Winton showgrounds were successful in having the Council refuel the generator so they had power for their last night. Unfortunately for them early morning wind gusts blew dust everywhere, but they had put their awning away before the gusts came through.
Anita, Bluey and I walked to the Satisfaction Bakery for breakfast and the humans had excellent egg and bacon rolls - the rolls were ciabatta. We ambled along the main road which is Oak St and stopped at the Visitor Information Centre. We have passed through Barcaldine before, but this is the first time staying in this town. We will be here for a week so should see most of the sights.
Blue and Tilly had lots of time outside on their leads or in their playpen. We have a partly shaded site so haven't bothered putting up our awning. We paid our $1 entry fee to the local swimming pool, where we were the only customers for most of the time we were there. It is a lovely pool but would be even better if it had a thermal pool. Tilly loves the new flyscreens and we are fairly confident she can't get out even when the windows are open.
We caught up on our washing and Blue had a training session. He played with his ball but still doesn't catch it, probably because he has poor eyesight.
