Ilfracombe
A few cattle trucks passed us on the drive from Blackall to Ilfracombe. We stopped at Barcaldine to buy food from the bakery and IGA. We didn't linger as we wanted to set up camp. There have been several contractors cutting the grass by the side of the road, leaving large mounds of cut grass.
The caravan park is right next to the highway, but we are down the back thanks to our friends who arrived here last night. There is a "look at me" entrance to the park.
Blue and Harvey the boxer have been getting to know each other. Despite their size difference Blue was enticing Harvey to chase him tonight, which was not going to happen as they were both on their leads. Tilly furred up when Harvey came to the flyscreen door of our van.
Six of us had dinner at the Wellshot Hotel, the only pub in town. We were going to eat outside but there are sqillions of flies and mosquitoes. Why isn't the male version of these seats in the pub wearing just jocks and boots and the female portrayed fully clothed wearing spurs? At least the money pinned to the ceiling will eventually go to a charity.
