Beccy Cole and Adam Harvey
Adam Harvey was scheduled to perform at 4pm today, on a stage in the sun when the temperature was forecast to be 36°. The bureau of meteorology measures temperatures in the shade, so it will feel a lot hotter on stage. When Beccy took the stage after 5pm the temperature was still 35°. We silly festival goers sat in the sun under the shade of umbrellas to watch their shows. Both shows were great!
Just after 2pm the power failed throughout the showgrounds because the generator ran out of fuel! Surely these things come with a programmable warning system to issue an alert that the fuel is getting low?
Marina and I walked around looking for vans that might have pets locked inside, but fortunately didn't identify any. I contacted the council officer and explained that caravan air conditioning does not restart even when the power comes back on. It needs to be started inside the van, normally with a remote control. She put an alert on Facebook and said she would have an announcement made at the main stage. And Anita thinks I am paranoid constantly checking the temperature in the van when we are not here! Our Bushtracker is well insulated but the temperature reached 30° in the half hour the power was off.
At least the early mornings are cool. I took Bluey for a run with his Frisbee. He likes to run with it in his mouth, then stops to see if anyone noticed how clever he is.
We caught up with some old friends who are also at the festival, chatting under our awning. Tilly came out and kept her eye on Harvey who crawled under the Bushtracker. She furred up once but soon ignored him. He is a lovely boy.
