Tanunda

There are four Lutheran churches in Tanunda which has a population of about 5,000 people. These churches tend to be architecturally austere.

The others were doing washing, cooking or other jobs so I took Blue for a walk around Tanunda. He is still uncertain walking in new areas with only one person. He prefers the security of two humans.

There were more people in Tanunda on Saturday afternoon than in Nuriootpa. Several pubs, restaurants and cafes had customers. Musque Food and Wine is the South Australian Restaurant of the Year for 2020. The town has a good vibe helped by some attractive historic buildings.

We had all made an early start to go to the undercover Barossa Market in Angaston. Parking was not an issue as the number of stall holders has been reduced due to a Covid restriction on serving meals in places like markets. Food and drinks have to be takeaway. There is a wonderful bakery which supplied croissants for our breakfast,  quiches for dinner, and pastry indulgence for me.

Tomorrow we leave here for Cape Jaffa so I managed to hook up the van and pack away hoses, chocks and the groundsheet to allow an early start. This has been a great campsite for Blue and Tilly as there are no dogs on nearby sites. She has been happy on a long lead in the sun, hiding under the caravan step to get shade. Blue went to the off leash dog park but there were no dogs to play with him. He rested under the van playing with a palm frond.
