Lake Albert at Meninge

As we drove north west from Cape Jaffa to Meningie, we passed three Roadie vehicles headed the opposite direction to Beachport where one of the women lives. There have been various weather warnings for South Australia for today, including for the Yorke Penninsular where we were last week. It has been humid and warm here at the Lake Albert Caravan Park at Meningie, with only a couple of drops of rain so far, but thunder and lightning arrived at 9.50pm.

Tilly was super active again at 5am. I am threatening to make her sleep in the crate in the car, but could only do that if windows can be left open a bit. We hit the road early and stopped to see The Granites, a few granite boulders in a single location along the Coorong Beach 3kms off the Pacific Highway. This is considered to be the longest beach in Australia at 220kms.

We set up camp overlooking Lake Albert which has lots of bird life. Pelicans group together on the lake and move together like a floating island. We walked Blue out of the caravan park into a small public park where he could play with his frisbee. I then walked Tilly to the shore where she fantasised about catching one of the birds.

The little critters played together in the Bushtracker. Blue makes funny noises and little barks as he tackles Tilly. She gets on her back ready to use those strong back legs on him if necessary.
