Barossa 4° Tonight

We tried to stay at the caravan park at Tanunda but there were no vacancies over the weekend. Nuriootpa had spaces for three vans so we are back in this lovely green spacious park. Our large sites back onto the North Para River which is currently more like a stream. There were bad floods in the Barossa in 1983. There is a concrete water barrier on the other side of the river, and a levee bank on our side, with us and our vans in path of any flooding that may occur. We will keep an eye on the weather forecast.

Last night we had another lovely meal at Fermentasian in Tanunda. After all of the travelling and activity on Aussie Road Crew, we had a quiet morning. This afternoon we went for a wine tasting at the St Hallett winery. There was hardly enough room for the glasses on the table for the five tasters. Blue and Hugo were allowed inside as no food is served. Some bottles were purchased and others ordered for later delivery.

In the month since we were last in this region, there has been extensive growth on the vines and lots of blooms in the many flower beds.
