Angaston
Last night six of us had pizza at the 40's Cafe at Angaston which claims to serve the world's best pizza. Two of our Roadie friends had to leave this morning to head home to the Central Coast of NSW for work commitments. We spent the morning doing washing, trimming Blue's fur and other jobs.
I drove back to Angaston to buy some chew toys for Blue and walk around the town admiring the extensive displays of roses and many historic buildings. These yellow roses are outside the old town hall, now the library.
Roses are not just in public gardens. Many private gardens also have extensive displays of roses of many colours. Several roads have a row of red roses in front of grape vines.
The Angaston Hotel has some interesting architectural features, like this decorative doorway. The building now used as a wine bar has recently been renovated. The external paint job is striking and I will try to have a look inside, possibly for a lunch.
The library has an impressive entrance, while the Masonic Hall is more spartan. The hall has been converted to upmarket accommodation.
