Kangaroo Island

After a night of 50+kph winds we knew the crossing across to Kangaroo Island would be rough. We were on the 9am ferry so were lined up before 8.30. After guiding the cars on board, the crew then had caravans and motor homes reverse onto the ferry. Anita had Blue with her and we left Tilly in the car. There were two other Roadie dogs with us. We had been taking drugs for a few days to reduce the risk of sea sickness and we were both OK, so was Blue. The motor home was parked very close to our Toyota so it was good both had good brakes to stop them moving on the voyage.

At the end of the trip drivers were told to return to their cars. As we were the second vehicle to drive off there was no time to pick up Anita and Blue. The first place I could stop was about half a kilometre from the ferry. Blue didn't want to leave the boat as he thought I was still on it. Other Roadies were on later ferries. We let them know they should all go to their vehicles when drivers were called to return to their vehicles so they avoided being separated.

It took about an hour to drive to the caravan park where we are staying for four nights. We drove into the town for lunch and coffee. The mural is at Cactus where we had coffee and will return for lunch.

Beccy provided us with dinner and a short concert after the last of the Roadies had arrived from the 6.30pm ferry. Libby is here with us, and Amber Joy Poulton and Jake Nicolai. Jake has his partner and their two year old and four year old daughters with them. The girls were entertained playing with Tilly through the bars of her crate.
