Busy Day
I had an early start taking the Toyota for service at 7.40am, but Blue had me awake in time to see the sunrise. The service depot was only 2km from our caravan park so I rode my scooter home after dropping off the car. The service was finished by 1pm but without the booked wheel alignment having been done. I was assured there was nothing to suggest any problem with the wheel alignment, but Toyota didn't manage my booking very well as it had been booked for an alignment.
In the afternoon I visited my niece and her kids. One of my nephews arrived so that was an unexpected bonus. The older kids are 6 and 4 years old, and the youngest only 8 months. The 4 year old told me some people are 100 years old - she didn't ask me how old I am!
We had dinner at the Goody Pub across the road from the showgrounds on Goodwood Road. The food was "good" especially as we were given a 25% discount after showing our caravan park entry ticket.
Four of us went to the Crown and Anchor in town to see Ricky Albeck perform (he is Beccy's son). We were one block from Rundle St which has a lovely collection of historic buildings. The exterior of the old Adelaide Fruit and Produce Exchange has been preserved and encloses new apartments, shops and restaurants. The mural is in an alley off Rundle St.
I had to leave the pub because the support act was annoying - out of tune, confused and music not to my taste. The others will catch a cab back here and probably tell me what a great show I missed!
