Hot Day in Alice Springs
While it was cool we did some jobs including the washing. Our air conditioning filters needed cleaning but we didn't realise how bad they were - the filters are inside the van so all the dust was collected from air in the van. These are before and after photos. The filters are very fragile and the air conditioner cannot operate without them. We will buy spares as soon as we can.
We left Tilly and Blue in our van under the watchful eye of our friends. The temperature reached 37° this afternoon so the air conditioner stayed on. Anita and I drove to the car wash and cleaned the outside of the Toyota.
As it was too hot to do much outside we took our friends for a drive around Alice Springs safely inside the air conditioned Toyota. At the top of ANZAC Hill the wind was hot and strong, but we ventured out to admire the view and take a few snaps.
Our next stop was Heavitree Gap which separates the East and West MacDonnell Ranges. The Stuart Highway, the railway line and the Todd River are crammed in this gap. I stood in the middle of the dry Todd River to take this photo of the eastern peak of the Gap.
Back at our van we rested until we decided Blue needed a trim, and that required he first be washed. This is the before photo.
