ARC Day 7 - Midge Point

Our drive from the Barracrab caravan park to the Travellers Rest caravan park at Midge Point  was uneventful. Being a Sunday there were fewer trucks on the road. I noticed one of the leads was loose on our Anderson plug on the Bushtracker had come loose. After breakfast this was soon fixed by a couple of handy Roadies.

Beccy and Libby stopped at a bottle shop and a truck driver pulled in behind them to let them know they had lost a bolt from their trailer. Fortunately Roadie Roy arrived and sorted out that problem - Roy being one of the Roadies who fixed my Anderson plug.

We refuelled at Sarina and stopped for lunch and some shopping at Mackay. It is almost impossible to keep Tilly off kitchen benches and this is where she had settled while I walked Blue.

This park at Midge Point is large and well kept. There is an access path to the beach which we will explore tomorrow. Disturbed soil at the base of trees is evidence of bandicoot activity, and dingos are apparently active in the area. If we want to walk along the creek bed we should do that at low tide because the crocs might be there at high tide - we will find somewhere else to go for a walk! Tonight we can hear the call of fruit bats.

This is one of Kerry Brisbane's photos of Amber Joy Poulton's show last night, with Libby and Beccy as backing singers, and Liam Kennedy-Clark and Kelly Brouhaha on guitars.
