ARC DAY 15 Drive Mount Isa to Camooweal
Before leaving Mount Isa we did some shopping for cat food. I also bought a flash drive and dropped it off at Kerry Brisbane's house so she can send me high resolution copies of photos she took of Blue and Tilly. We also discovered caravan parking spaces in the library carpark opposite the Worn Out West country clothing shop we wanted to visit. The small sign indicating caravan parking faces the main road so I only saw it as I drove in. I had looked at the satellite photos of the capark and thought it likely it would be suitable for a short stay.
The drive to Camooweal is not particularly interesting, but the road is in good condition. Amber Joy passed us driving Beccy's Prado so we knew the fuel issue had been resolved. We stopped for lunch at a roadside rest area where I took photos of the termite mounds as I love the beautiful red colour of the soil (except when it is all over Bluey). The old road is a metre below the current road level.
Tomorrow we cross the border into the Northern Territory, about 50kms from Camooweal. We will spend the next two nights at Barkly Homestead, then Beccy and co will head home.
