Time Consuming Critters
Yesterday I had to drive to Brisbane to see my physiotherapist about my back, so that took up half the day. While I was out Anita did some cooking, including this lovely orange almond cake which I cut into small pieces and put into the freezer.
I was brushing and combing Blue when Tilly decided to clean her teeth with the comb. She has lost many of her baby teeth and chews on whatever she can. Blue prefers to chew on my fingers - gently!
At the end of each day I realise how much time has been spent feeding little critters, playing with them, cleaning up after them, and in Blue's case walking him, or trying to walk with him - he is still very timid on his lead so I carry him further than he walks. Today was bath day for him so that takes an hour or so by the time he is washed, dried and brushed. At least his toilet training has partly improved as he seems to be using the modified kitty litter to pee in - wish he would also use it for poops!
I have finished the first stage of the Toyota storage units. I went to a specialist screw shop to buy a few narrow screws to supplement my nailing and glueing to hold the plywood panels together. My electric scooter weighs about 12kgs so I made a separate unit so it won't rattle around. Everything is strapped down for security. I will need a two storey arrangement inside the critters' crate so Tilly can have a kitty litter tray and they can both have beds. There are air conditioning vents that keep the rear of the Toyota air conditioned so they should be OK in the back. I haven't cleaned the inside since we returned from WA so had to vacuum the cargo bay before installing the storage boxes. I still have to detail the rest of the vehicle.
I haven't succeeded in uploading videos onto this blog so succumbed to creating a Youtube Channel called "Committed Travellers" where I have put two videos of Blue and Tilly playing. The first was taken mid May and the second today - they are so much bigger today, especially Blue. To find the channel Google "youtube blue and tilly committed travellers" and you should find the Tunnel Trouble video. Presumably if you subscribe to the channel you will see the second video, but if that fails Google "youtube blue and tilly puppy and kitten playing".
