Rainy Day
We had good intentions of walking to the market this morning, but the likelihood of rain convinced us to drive. After buying the best bread on the Gold Coast we drove to Bumbles and ordered take away breakfasts and coffee which we enjoyed at home. Anita settled in to a day of watching Killing Eve while I tackled a few more jobs.
The rain continued for most of the day so it was not ideal for painting, but I touched up the bar-b-que handles with hammered silver paint. I can't even recall why or when I bought this paint but it is so good. I need to use it up because the lid no longer fits tightly so I also used it on the metal brackets.
I ended up washing the weight distribution hitch and swing bars in hot soapy water in the laundry sink to ensure all grease was removed. When they were dry I used masking tape to cover the parts I don't want to get paint on. The swing bars are pock marked with stone chips so I will prime these when the rain stops.
Blue was overdue for a bath as he started to smell doggy with the rain. He is so close to the ground that half of his fur gets wet when he walks through our ground covers going to the toilet. I took him for a walk around the block after he had been thoroughly dried and brushed, but he still had to be carried half the time.
We went to dinner at Vivo at the casino. It was weird parking in an almost empty carpark, and walking through an almost emptly casino. Diners were well spaced and the staff were attentive, many of whom are new. Pre lockdown we loved the pizzas at this restaurant but the toppings on the new menu weren't to our liking so we settled for salad and pasta.
