More Progress on Jobs
Our electrician finished painting the front of our house this morning. Blue gets ecstatic every time he sees Ashley - it must be a boy-thing. I pushed my workbench out of the garage to spray the weight distribution hitch and swing bars with primer. I laid down a tarpauline and took advantage of the still conditions. By this evening I was able to start painting with black enamel.
One of my neighbours left us some plants as thanks for me drafting some documents for him. The green bromeliades turn orange when growing in the sun, but I have planted them in pots that are in the protected courtyard until they establish roots. Eventually I hope they will be planted near our pool in full sun. I love the succulent which will also be planted by our pool. I will also have to move some aloe vera plants to the pool area as Blue keeps chewing on them and they can be harmful for dogs.
I noted what I thought was pet fur stuck to the bottom of the door to our downstairs toilet. When I used some sandpaper to remove this fur, I realised it was more than fur. My trusty apprentice helped me lift the door off its hinges and lay it on the coffee table. The door is close to the tiled floor and has probably had too much water left after cleaning as the base of the door is disintegrating. It looks like a form of "chipboard". Tomorrow I will use the circular saw to trim the bottom of the door, then seal the new cut with paint. We will have to carry the door outside for this job.
