Driving Blue Around
Anita and I started the day walking around the lake, about a 4kms trip. We took turns carrying Blue when he wasn't up to walking. I then took him for a drive to Spotlight at West Burleigh. He travels in the car much better these days. It was cloudy and cool so I could leave him for a few minutes while I bought the accessories I need for the bistro blind. Next stop was the locksmith where he came in with me much to the delight of a couple of the workers there. On the way home I took this photo of extensive cloud over the ocean. Rain is needed here on the Gold Coast but none fell today.
I spotted Blue and his brown cow toy buried in his bed. First his legs appeared, then his head with the toy. This game went on for a while keeping him quiet.
I managed to finish undercoating the batten needed to support the blind, and the kitty litter box for the crate when we go travelling again. Hopefully I will make a start on some of the outstanding caravan jobs we need to get done.
One of my neighbours wanted me to draft a document for all residents of our street to sign. We have a problem with idiots sometimes racing along the road which often has pedestrians, cyclists, and kids playing as there are no footpaths. He seems to have achieved 100% support for the idea the entry to the street from the main road be permanently closed, requiring all residents to drive into our street via the next parallel street controlled by traffic lights. Of the 300+ daily vehicles travelling along our street, only about 20% are residents of our street or visitors to this street. The rest are passing through and some are rat runners avoiding a red light at the controlled intersection. The challenge will be convincing Council this is a good idea. I tried this a couple of years ago with one of my neighbours but we were told the volume of traffic did not justify blocking the street entrance.
Our Tilly is teething and is off her food and a bit cranky. She comes to me looking for my knitting bag. I bought her a new igloo bed today and she hopped in and went to sleep. Kmart has an extensive range of pet goods at astoundingly cheap prices.
