Busy Couple of Days

Yesterday morning I was at Bunnings early to get some plywood cut to size. They only charge $1 per cut which saves me a lot of time measuring, marking, sawing and importantly the cut pieces fit in the back of the Jeep, but a 1200 x 2400 sheet it too big for me to manage. My project is a storage unit for the back of the Toyota in anticipation of being back on the road - this time with two little critters. By the end of the day I was able to test fit the base unit.

Today I made a box to carry my electric scooter and started coating the plywood with polyurethane. I hope to have this project finished in a day or so.

I lost more than an hour yesterday removing about a hundred small burrs from Blue's fur. I can't work out which areas of grass to avoid so we are walking on the road unless I know the nature strip is well looked after by my neighbours. These pesky little things are smaller than a flea but if left alone would cause massive tangles and matting of his fur. He is very obliging when it comes to being brushed and deburred by falling asleep on my lap.

I continue to have visitors and meetings with neighbours thanks to Blue. Today I spoke with a neighbour for the first time even though we have both lived in this street since 2013. My Irish neighbour goes out of her way for a chat and a cuddle. I met her very large cat but kept her and Blue from having physical contact. Last night was puppy training and Blue "played" with a 6kg puppy who roughed him up so he hopefully got some idea what it can be like for Tilly when he gets carried away playing with her - Blue is 2.9kg and Tilly 1.6kg. He still prefers the big pup over the barking pup - he runs over to me as soon as the Moodle starts barking.

He was exhausted this morning and did not eat until lunchtime so I kept him in a crate except for toilet breaks. He slept a lot of the time but Tilly kept him company sitting on top of the crate.

Over two days a team of scaffolders put this structure around the house at the end of our street. Today there was a crane lifting beams up and over the scaffolding. It is going to be a large Metricon house.
