Very Social Day

I started my day by reassembling the outdoor seat I have been painting. That sounds like a straightforward job but it wasn't. I had numbered each slat to make sure it went back in the same position, but it was awkward holding the cast iron end pieces in position while I fitted the first couple of slats. Blue was "helping" me and occasionally sneaking away with my screwdriver and trying to steal screws. While I was in the middle of this job our electrician returned to complete a couple of jobs and adjust the sensor lights.

Anita was busy cooking lunch for a couple of friends we haven't seen for a few months when two other friends called in briefly to see Tilly and Blue. Everyone who meets them is taken by their personalities and cuteness. Lunch was very enjoyable and we did our best to continue our social distancing, sanitising and hand washing. Anita served a couple of Maggie Beer dishes. Our friends arrived with a selection of gourmet cakes but none of us could manage to eat them after lunch. Anita and I shared a couple for our dinner and they were delicious.

At 5 o'clock we had a Skype Happy Hour with our Newcastle friends. Their new dog contentedly sat on their laps but our two little critters didn't make an appearance as they were both exhausted after playing with all our in-person visiting friends. It was good to have a virtual get together but being together with friends in the same place still wins. Blue crawled under my chair to sleep.

We were watching TV when Tilly jumped from the couch onto the Lazy Susan we had left on the coffee table. She was spun 90 degrees but quickly recovered and managed not to spill the glass of water sitting there. There are so many things to consider with a very active agile kitten on the loose. At least the puppy can't get off the ground without help.
