Plumbing Job

I spent all morning pretending to be a plumber as the leak from the kitchen sink wasn't going to fix itself. After removing a couple of the plastic drain fittings I took them to the laundry to give them a good clean in hot soapy water and discovered our own "fat burg". While I had the plastic fittings off it was a good time to remove the plug housings and give them a good clean. Putting it all back together was a challenge because there is a shelf that could not be removed. The hole cut for the pipes is too small so I had to keep moving it up and down to access the joins. I was worried the rubber seals might be compromised and didn't want to be driving around trying to find new ones. Eventually I had it back together with no leaks.

Anita cleaned while I turned my attention to the kick boards. These were a pain to remove so I decided to plane them to fit better, and add toggles so they will be more easily removed in the future. We spent over six hours doing this job. Tilly and Blue thought it was great fun having a human down at floor level with them.

The little ones spent about an hour in the bed together. They weren't sleeping - Tilly was pummeling Blue's head while he gnawed on her legs. Each could have simply left but they must have been enjoying the game, even though the sound effects suggested a lot of pain was being inflicted.

I ventured out for some non essential shopping - Whitworths Marine for high grade sealant, Clark Rubber for new floor protectors for our kitchen stools, Bunnings for timber, Spotlight for nothing as they didn't have what I needed, Petstock for food and teeth cleaning gear for Blue and Tilly, and finally Coles for more meat for those carnivores.

Our house keeper had a small gap in her busy schedule so came for 90 minutes to help keep our house clean and as tidy as possible with pet toys and other paraphernalia all over the lounge, bedroom and bathroom.
After take away Thai for dinner I settled in for a little relaxing knitting. I thought having a kitten in the house would curtail knitting activities, but never thought she would simply sit on my half finished cardigan while I continued knitting.
