Fur Kids

It has been a busy couple of days looking after Blue and Tilly. This evening our pup had an upset tummy and pooped in the house. This is normally not a big issue but Anita was pre-occupied and walked it around the house before noticing the problem. I grabbed the bucket, mop and scrubbing brush to deal with the consequences. As I was typing this he ran past me under the table and vomitted. I then found more poop, cleaned that up, and he did more! He was then confined in the playpen on lino squawking his head off, but Anita was trying to watch Death in Paradise so I kept him on my lap to know where he is at all times, which turned out to be a good move as he got agitated and I took him straight outside which avoided another accident indoors. Normally he stays on the floor preferring the timber floor to carpet.

Blue is at the stage of "trying it on". If I take him outside and call him to come back inside he sometimes thinks he will do what he wants and play with leaves or prune a few plants.  I won't chase him, just check the gate is locked and leave him in the garden. It doesn't take too long for him to realise he is alone and start crying at the front door to be rescued. When he gets excited he jumps around and is hard to pick up. I tell him to sit but when I bend down to pick him up he develops springs in his legs. I just keep repeating the exercise until he sits quietly then pick him up to carry him back upstairs.

Tilly is too small for our cat collars and harnesses so I made her a small version using velcro and cotton tape. She keeps hiding near the front door hoping to dash outside if we are not vigilant.

We have managed to swim in our heated pool the past couple of days, but it is cold when we get out so have to make a quick dash out of the wind. Our walk today was limited to a trip to Aldi, less than a kilometre away. We bought another bed for Tilly but so far she doesn't seem to like it.

Progress on installing the acrylic sheeting over the gatehouse openings is slow. I marked up a couple of panels where I will drill holes for the screws, and nailed up the timber beading to support the top of the panels. While I was doing some of this work my neighbour used a pressure washer to clean down his carport, but now when they open the panel door there is a terrible squealing noise.

We needed a couple of things checked with our security cameras so the service man came this morning. He has been extremely busy installing new systems after people have been burgled. A gang of scumbags waited till the mothers in one street had left on the morning school run before ransacking half a dozen houses. They trashed the houses for very little reward, but a consequence of their actions was traumatising one woman so badly she had security cameras installed all through the inside of her home as well as outside, so that she can check to make sure nobody is inside before she gets out of her car.

I am typing this post using my Samsung Galaxy Tab S5e which allows me to use different connections for moving photos from my phone to the tablet to post on the blog. I have successfully used Samsung Flow and Quick Share but haven't decided which is more efficient. When I bought my latest phone I also bought the tablet with an integrated keypad which is easy to use except I keep reaching for the mouse when there isn't one. It is much lighter than our laptops so was intended for use when travelling overseas - that won't be happening for a while!
