Counting Down the Days

Blue is keen to go exploring beyond our front gate, and I am looking forward to being able to take him for walks. We can do that next Monday when his parvo vaccine should have taken full effect. Tomorrow Tilly has to go to the vet for more of her vaccinations. She is keen to explore the outside world without realising how dangerous it can be for a cat. Twice today she slipped past as we were going out the front door. I try to find her and make sure she is locked in before opening the door, but of course she finds the best places to hide. I was in and out all day getting tools to progress my gatehouse project. Blue stayed with me much of the time, or elected to lie on the floor inside the front door.

All of the markings I had made yesterday were washed off by the overnight rain so I had to do that again. Fortunately I was able to drill holes in the timber and rendered blockwork without any issues. I screwed on two of the the three panels to make sure all holes line up. The third is more challenging as I need to cut off some of the acrylic sheet before drilling any holes in it. The sheeting is protected by brown paper until I am ready to install it permanently with some waterproof sealant between the sheets and the painted render.

Tilly found a comfortable spot to settle while watching me knit. She makes a good neck warmer. As I type I have both of them in a small crate at my feet so that I can keep an eye on them both. While they are very cute they are very time consuming and it is hard to get time to do other things. I should also be getting very fit going up and down the stairs with Blue at least a dozen times a day.
