Busy Couple of Days
Our housekeeper came yesterday for 3 hours so we had to keep Blue and Tilly out of her way. Anita ventured out and did the shopping while I cut and painted timber trim for the gatehouse windows. I checked the rules for storing the LPG bottles located in the gatehouse and the requirement for adequate ventilation is met as there is a large gap over the door and a smaller gap under the door. Hopefully I will get started on the installation stage by tomorrow. I had two areas for painting that were just over a metre apart. Each time I moved from one to the other Blue had to follow and lie down right next to my feet.
Naturally many hours each day are consumed by feeding, brushing, toileting, and cleaning up after the puppy and kitten, and of course simply watching them play by themselves, with each other and with us. There are also many photo opportunities not to be missed! I bathed Bluey today and then Tilly gave him another going over while they were curled up in their shared bed. Tilly's back left leg is across his nose. His back legs point to the right while his head points to the left.
Our electrician came today to change some outdoor lights so they come on with sensors for all those times I am out at night with Blue. He also tested the battery in my small scooter and pronounced it dead, so I now have to see if I can find a replacement. He also managed to change the battery on the BBQ without pulling the whole thing to bits. He will come back tomorrow to see if he can track down a couple of small leaks on our roof and adjust the sensors.
This afternoon we took Blue for a drive to our hairdresser. We were able to park right outside so while Anita had her hair cut I kept Blue company. He travelled in a small crate on Anita's lap but when we stopped I put him in the big crate at the back and left the Jeep door open. There was hardly a whimper. Anita took over Blue minding duties while I had my hair cut. He stayed quiet in the big crate during the drive home so we seem to have made some progress on his acceptance of car travel. He has learnt that visitors come through the front gate so has started waiting to see who might be passing. Our electrician only got a brief hello from Blue but he was pursued by Tilly.
