Busy Couple of Days
Yesterday I simply forgot to post on this blog as we had been busy all day. Our house sitter came to visit Blue and Tilly (and us!) and she can't wait for us to be travelling again so she can spend lots of time with them. In the evening we had a five way Skype catch up with old friends. We will hopefully see two of them for dinner tomorrow night as one is visiting the Gold Coast managing her father post operation.
I had to make our storage room which contains the hot water service safe for Tilly as she is going to be sleeping in there in the short term. The room stays warm and she has an igloo bed to curl up in, plus toys and other essentials. This allows Blue to sleep longer and therefore allows us to sleep longer, because Tilly can't wake him up. I used the rest of the pet enclosure panels to keep her away from the hot water service electric cables.
Blue still doesn't willingly stay in his crate but I have managed to zip him in after he has fallen asleep. This means I know he isn't wandering around the house at night and he has to wake me up if he needs to go outside, rather that pee on our carpet.
For dinner we enjoyed the rest of our roasted tomato sauce on pasta, followed by left over rhubarb and custard. Tonight Anita is making biscuits to go with some homemade soup she found in the freezer.
I decided to move the hooks that secure our French doors in the open position. They were installed at the bottom of the doors so I moved them up near the handles to avoid having to bend over each time we use them. When the builders installed the doors downstairs they had wised up and located the hooks at a sensible height. Of course it was not a simple matter of removing them and attaching them again because some paint came off and there were holes that needed to be filled. I needed three different paints to touch up the areas where the hooks had been.
This evening I couldn't find Tilly to give her dinner but soon heard Blue growl at her as she tried to steal his food. They are now sleeping peacefully after a very active day playing together. Anita is very pleased with her little Tilly!
