Professional Window Cleaner

We were out walking when our window cleaner called to say he was on the way - no prior notice of course. Anita paused to pick up coffees and I went home to show him the top floor windows we wanted cleaned. He had a tall extending ladder so in one hour did the outside of the windows we can't reach, and three of our internal turret windows. There are 32 windows on our top floor, not counting the bifold or French doors. Inside the turret he happily allowed me to put oven mitts on the ends of his ladder to protect our wall.

The fourth turret window is not accessible by a tall ladder so I made a false step which creates a flat surface for me to put up a small step ladder. With Anita standing guard I managed to remove the flyscreen and clean the inside of the window. This was another flyscreen I didn't put back.

After finally declaring the upstairs window cleaning job finished, we rewarded ourselves with a swim in the pool. I rested and finished knitting my first beanie - nothing fancy and I can see the downside of using recycled wool with many joins and the wrinkles contributing to uneven stitches.

My 86 year old friend Joan sent me a photo of her dog Leo post surgery. The specialist centre decided Joan should not be driving because of COVID-19 so did home delivery of the lovely Leo. He can walk but needs lots of rest. Eleven years ago Joan agonised whether she was too old to get another dog, but I convinced her to get him and he has been one of her many much loved dogs.

Our Newcastle friends have unexpectedly ended their dog-free drought by rescuing a 4 year old Chihuahua Pomeranian cross named Hugo. It has certainly been a good dog week!
