Like a Summer's Day

This morning we walked beside the river and crossed under the Chevron Island bridge. Before the main road was widened and the traffic lights altered it was not possible to cross the bridge road at the lights. The only pedestrian "crossing" was this underpass which requires gumboots at high tide.

We walked over the new bridge which took us past this sewerage pumping station disguised by marine themed murals.

The river is extremely quiet with very few motor boats. Use of boats is allowed only if going fishing and the fish is intended to be eaten. This is the view towards Surfers Paradise from the top of the bridge.

We resumed window cleaning but only finished the three in our bedroom as it was quite warm at 31 degrees. I relaid the plastic tiles around the BBQ as that was the easiest option. We keep the table on the veranda protected with a waterproof cover. I replaced the tablecloth clips we had been using with these plastic clamps that came with an Aldi pool cover.

I saw an ad on TV for a Vicks product and wrote to the company:

"Please stop showing the ad where a woman coughs without using a tissue or coughing into her elbow. We are trying to reinforce practices that reduce the risk of spreading COVID-19 and this ad is does not support these measures".

The response from the company so far has simply been they will be sharing my sentiments with the Marketing Team.
