Day 19 - Sorting the Workroom
Anita has developed a cold so had a day at home in the caravan watching newcomers doing crazy things as they park their caravans on the steep sites. I visited my aunt and uncle then spent the day sorting through Graham's workshop. I found about 200 batteries ranging from the tiny buttons to those used in small motor cycles. Many are corroding so I have put them in plastic tubs to transport to the waste transfer station.
I also have a dozen unidentified chemicals to transport, plus old gas bottles and fire extinguishers. The Junkman starts tomorrow so hopefully the house will be emptied by Friday.
On the way back to our caravan park I ordered takeaway Thai. While it was being cooked I took a couple of photos of the old buildings. The museum was the original Lilydale Town Hall, and the theatre was the Mechanics Institute.
There are several aged care homes and service providers in Lilydale. Anglicare uses this first historic cottage. The other one is privately owned across the road.
The temperature is expected to drop to 8° tonight, but we should have a couple of sunny days while the workers are clearing out Graham's house. I booked a council hard rubbish collection so much of it can be left on the wide nature strip.
