Day 16 - Dust and Rain

We woke this morning to find our car and caravan covered in red dust. Last night's sprinkle of rain helped the dust stick.

We met up with our friends Sue and Leigh in Essendon at Poynton's Nursery Cafe overlooking the Marribynong River. This is a lovely cafe in a large nursery with plenty of parking. It has been a while since we have been in the same place at the same time, so we had a lot of catching up to do. Sue posted this photo on Facebook.

Our next stop was to have a cup of tea with my sister Jenny. The rain had started but it wasn't heavy. We all enjoyed the lower temperature. As we drove towards our caravan park the rain became much heavier. Gutters were running red washing away the dust. Mullum Mullum Creek was flowing at a higher level than it was a couple of days ago.

Tonight we stayed home and had an Australian dinner - lamb chops. Yum! The rain will ease overnight so we shouldn't get wet hooking up in the morning for the move to Lilydale.
